Job Description:

The Tony-award winning UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, a professional theatre company in residence at Southern Utah University, is accepting applications for Production Staff for the 2023 season. The Utah Shakespeare Festival produces a seven-show repertory season and two Greenshows across four venues in the summer/fall of each year.

Position details below. Contract dates vary by position. Most build contracts begin May 1 and end June 30. Run contracts Begin in May/June and end September/October. Please check dates in specific job descriptions.

Properties Supervisor: Contract begins late 2022 (offsite - attending meetings and doing prep work) with residency from early May to Mid-July

Properties Artisan: Contracts start in early-May and end in June/July.

Junior Artisan/Stage Crew: Contracts begin early May and run through early September/mid-October.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Properties Supervisor: Responsible for the organization, management, and coordination of all props for the shows they are assigned to. Works with the Properties Director and Assistant Properties Director to manage personnel, equipment, and supplies in the props department. Helps to ensure completion of all prop work for the season.

Properties Artisan: Responsible for the building and fabrication of stage and rehearsal properties for assigned productions. Works with the prop team to complete shop improvement and organizational projects as assigned.

Junior Artisan/Stage Crew: Responsible for the building and fabrication of stage and rehearsal properties for assigned productions. Works with the prop team to Complete shop improvement and organizational projects as assigned. Responsible for running, storage, and maintenance of props for assigned productions, as well as assisting with changeovers as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Prior experience in props construction or other related technical theater fields encouraged.
