Job Description:
The Student Involvement and Leadership Coordinator will provide meaningful experiences for all students through in-person new student orientation (Thunder U), advising the Student Programming Board (SPB), and advising the Student Sprit Board (SSB).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and facilitate the in-person Thunder U experience for both fall and spring semester while serving as a Thunder U point of contact for employees and students.

Recruit, hire, mentor, and advise the various boards and councils that support vibrant student events that are equitable across campus.

Oversee and allocate budgets and manage Marketplace software with the Cashier's Office.

Oversee campus wide "swipe in" feature through the SUU app to keep track of attendance data and demographics at different events.

Schedule programming, calendaring of Student Center spaces, serve on the University wide scheduling meeting, and work closely with overall Centralized Scheduling as needed.

Work with Cedar City and UDOT to obtain special events permits when required.

Serve on the planning committee for various events including, Homecoming Week, Founders Week, Utah Summer Games, consult as needed for faculty led events, and serve as the head of the Food and Faith planning committee.

Oversee summer programming, help plan and facilitate STIL events and initiatives, and create the summer, fall, and spring SPB events calendars

Serve as the STIL Centers event risk manager to mitigate student risk at STIL events.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree required.
-
Experience in large student programming.
-
Experience in student organization advising.
-
Ability to work with students, faculty, staff and administrative personnel.
-
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality in records and communication.
-
Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
-
Ability to oversee a large budget.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master's degree.
-
Experience and strength in Google Suite
-
Knowledge of student development theories
-
Knowledge of event scheduling softwares (i.e. T-Bird Connection)
-
Adaptable and willing to be flexible with event changes and demands

Experience with student athletic sections and school spirit programming
-
Experience with contracting and working with agents and outside entertainers/companies

Strength in organization and ability to work with many campus partners.
