Job Description:
The Education Coach is responsible for proactively supporting and engaging teaching staff to build their capacity to promote child development and school readiness. Coaches are an integral part of the program's training team and initiatives to improve teaching and best practices within the classrooms. Position will cover classrooms in Washington County.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow process of Practice Based Coaching to include goal setting, observation, assessment, reflection and data tracking between teacher and coach (20%)
-
Follow up on coaching goals set with teachers including securing needed resources, progress reports in person or virtually, providing class support as needed and monthly documentation submitted to supervisor (20%)

Recognize existing strengths of teaching staff and build positive, reflective mentor coaching relationships. Arrange classroom visits based on teacher need at a minimum of once a month (15%)

Develop and present monthly personal development training for teachers and staff (10%)

Work with manager(s) as part of the training team, providing instruction and support during the onboarding and training of staff (10%).
Additional Duties

Complete program wide coaching needs assessment annually (5%)

Conduct CLASS evaluations annually as needed or assigned (5%)

Contribute to efforts or other aspects of the program goals or initiatives as requested (5%)

Attend all necessary training, team staffing meetings and maintain personal professional development (5%)

Other duties as assigned by supervisor of Director (5%)
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field is required
-
Will require training and certification, provided by Head Start
-
Must be able to work with adult learners
-
Will be required to certify annually as a CLASS observer, training provided by Head Start
Preferred Qualifications
-
Minimum two years Head Start classroom experience
-
Familiar with Head Start Performance Standards and child outcomes framework

Knowledge of early childhood development, child assessment and teaching strategies
-
Experience providing training to adult learners
