Job Description:

The Communications Associate is responsible for participating and assisting in the design and implementation of all marketing efforts, including marketing/advertising/public relations campaigns to increase attendance, visibility, and awareness of the Utah Shakespeare Festival locally, regionally, and nationally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Communications Director and the Marketing Manager in producing and implementing marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns for the season.

  2. Coordinate the design and placement of all broadcast, digital, and print advertising and related promotions.

  3. Assist Marketing Manager with processing invoices and payments.

  4. Supervise the compilation of the season Playbills in coordination with the Publications Manager.

  5. Assist Marketing Manager with digital content creation, social media accounts management, photo and video creation and storage, and email list management.

  6. Facilitate the development and implementation of strategies to grow and manage group ticket sales and events to new and existing audiences.

  7. Assist and participate in planning and implementing various Festival promotional events in coordination with the Marketing Manager, including on- and off-site group services, opening night receptions, media receptions, media tours, media appointments, etc.

  8. Other duties as assigned and agreed upon.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience required.

  2. Excellent computer skills as well as written and oral communication skills required.

  3. Ability to handle numerous projects in a fast-paced environment required.

  4. Knowledge of print and electronic media production is strongly recommended.

  5. Knowledge of and experience with social media and targeted content creation.

  6. Knowledge of and experience with theatre and non-profit organizations strongly recommended.

  7. Occasional evening and weekend work required, with possible opportunities for travel.
